Laura Borealis was the nickname Laura Hyde Crapo’s maternal grandfather Thayer Baldwin (Hull, MA, USA) gave her. Laura used her nickname as her artistic name from 1988-2010. She has been living in Montreal, QC since 2006. She is a mother of three. She lived in Toronto, Victoria BC, Halifax, Chicago, Troy NY and Groton MA USA, and Paris FR.
All of her Projects, like Snob Shop, her music video directing for Sebadoh, Thrush Hermit etc, feature films credit Laura Borealis from 1988-2010. There are a number of people who have used this name Laura Borealis as well, even in the same city she once lived in- Chicago, just after her departure. There are only three Laura Crapos on earth right now, so it is easier to avoid confusion, to go by Laura Crapo. Here is a photo of Laura Hyde Crapo for reference.
